When looking for an overhead door that provides protection against the elements our insulated roll up garage doors provide many energy efficient solutions. Every door combines the durability if a rolling steel overhead door with the environmental protection of a high tech insulated center. Also, the double layered steel and insulated interior increases the door’s rigidity to make this one of our most secure doors without sacrificing looks or garage door functions. Along with ensuring protection from the elements, insulated garage doors offer an efficient way to reduce energy costs. The cost of electricity keeps on increasing, and bills can cut into your profits. Trying to keep the facility cool during the summer, and warm during the winter can cost a lot! However, insulated overhead garage doors help to maintain a consistent interior temperature, no matter what the temperature is outside. Installing insulated overhead garage doors can also help to increase the overall value of your property. They make for a good way to increase your asking price if you plan on selling the facility. Your workers deserve a comfortable environment to work in. Hearing all sort of external noise can end up distracting them and decreasing their productivity. But with insulated doors, the sound coming from the outside can be reduced, allowing your employees to focus on their work. The insulation efficiency is measured with the R Value of the door, the higher the value the better the insulation on the product. These doors are made of two layers of steel with insulation in between and they can be made out of different gauges ranging from 24 GA. to 16 GA. back slat. Having a thick gauge helps with deflection of the door thus keeping the opening sealed at all times when the door is not in use.
New residential roll up garage doors prices ranges anywhere from $250 to $10,000. Such a dramatic range comes mostly from the materials, designs and sizes. Although roll up doors are more expensive to purchase than other types of doors, in the long run, they pay for themselves through longevity and security. Roll up doors are designed to be more durable and can endure many more open/close cycles. Their durable construction also provides more protection from intrusion, saving on replacement costs of stolen materials and damage to the door itself. Whether you are building a new structure or refurbishing an existing one, it is immensely important that any entryway in the building is filled with a closure that meets the needs of that specific application. One thing you should always question when deciding on a closure is how much traffic will be coming through. Not all roll up doors are made for heavy traffic, however, there are high traffic performance roll up doors that are designed for use in high cycle applications. Some commercial doors even offer up to 1 million cycles. While there aren’t any sectional doors that come with this high cycle option, many manufacturers provide the option of specially designed springs, which allow sectional doors to cycle up to 100k times. When choosing your application, remember that if extra cycles are not necessary, more is not always better. Gauge, material and finish will vary based on the manufacturer, however, roll up doors come in steel, stainless steel and aluminum. As you can tell, each type of commercial door has several components. It is crucial that you understand the requirements of your application in order to choose the type of closure that best fits your opening.
